Are you aware of the truth behind colon cleansing weight loss? As a personal trainer, I tend to be skeptical of any method of weight loss that does not follow traditional guidelines. You know the drill, eat less and exercise more. However, I had heard so many exciting claims about colon cleansing and weight loss, I decided to uncover the truth.

First, let’s look at the fundamentals of weight loss. It really isn’t “rocket science”. Their are 3500 calories in a pound of body fat. If an individual consumes fewer calories than their body requires, they will lose weight.

Simple, right?

So, what do calories have to do with colon cleansing weight loss? Well, in my research I discovered that it was not unusual for individuals to lose 10-15 pounds in 7-10 days while colon cleansing!

Gadzooks!

So, do the math. An individual would have to be on a MEGA restrictive diet to experience weight loss of that magnitude. The individuals that I discovered were not on any specific type of diet.

Most were not on a diet AT ALL! So, how did they lose that much weight?

Simple. During a colon cleansing, the colon is able to rid itself of accumulated fecal matter. This impacted matter builds up on the walls of the colon over time.

The amount that can accumulate can be mind boggling. It is reported that an autopsy on the late Elvis Presly, revealed that his colon weighed 60 Pounds!

A healthy colon should weigh about 5 pounds.

What is the truth about colon cleanse weight loss? As a personal trainer, my clients approach me with all kinds of questions about colon cleansing and weight loss. So much so, in fact, that I decided to take it upon myself to do a little research on the matter. Here is what I discovered about colon cleansing and weight loss.

I discovered quite quickly that individuals quite frequently lose signifficant amounts of weight during and after a colon cleanse.

I found numerous cases of individuals losing 10-15 lbs in 7-10 days! The amount of weight lost varied signifficantly from person to person, depending on a variety of factors.

Be aware, however that the weight loss does not come as a result of fat loss. Rather, the weight loss is as a result of the elimination of impacted fecal matter from the colon.

The key concept to understand is that individuals are still losing unwanted pounds, and the benefits are amazing! After colon cleanse weight loss, people typically report a huge boost in energy levels, and a general sense of well being.

The weight is not likely to return, provided individuals cleanse their colons on a routine basis. How frequently one should cleanse is a question best left to an individual’s personal physician.

Individuals with a particularly large amount of impacted fecal matter, will sometimes notice an unsightly bulge in their lower stomach. Upon completing the cleanse, frequently the bulge will be drastically reduced, or even eliminated!
