This may sound weird but you can assist your weight loss attempt by visualizing it. If you can envision that you have a healthier body, it will usually be a lot easier to acquire it. While looking in the mirror and saying to yourself “Is that Tom Cruise, oh no, that’s me!” doesn’t exactly help you burn the fat off, the motivation factor will.

If you think about how some people who are anorexic always picture themselves as fatter than they are, and you may have seen a commercial about it, this is basically the opposite.
So what will happen is you see yourself as this tremendously good looking person with the perfect physique and you are then motivated to keep exercising and eating healthy and then all of a sudden, you will actually have that physique.
While there is nothing scientific backing this up, it definitely does make sense that it would work. Both your mind and your body are directly related and even though thinking about being smaller doesn’t make you sweat, it will keep you motivated to make the sweat occur.
For the most part, people who are overweight or obese will always think that there is no way that they can lose the weight and picture themselves with a terrible physique so that definitely doesn’t help matters at all. Whether you tell yourself that you can’t lose the weight or you hear a friend or family member saying it, it is for sure true. For most people, it isn’t just about having the right diet but the mental part also. If you can visualize that you are making progress, you will keep yourself motivated to go on with the diet but if you can’t visualize any progress being made, you will likely lose motivation and quit the diet.
One way of eliminating the negativity would be to stand at your mirror and stare at yourself for a few moments and just visualize yourself as losing weight. One thing that might work for you, especially if you are using weights and working out, is to flex as hard as you can and suck your gut in as hard as you can and whatever you can stretch to is basically what you will look like in a few months if you stick to the diet. For those who are just looking to lose weight sucking your gut in works just as well.
Whenever you are going about your daily routine, whether it be doing housework, walking around town, watching TV, on the computer, or anything, just picture yourself as if you are already at the physique you want even if you are not. If you are overweight, it wouldn’t mean to go around wearing a wife beater (tank top) or belly top, it would mean to carry yourself with confidence. If you look at bigger women, there are a lot of big women that can get hot guys, but those women hold a lot of confidence in themselves. If you just let yourself wear whatever and walk around without caring about anything, you obviously won’t be very attractive to anyone.
