Prepackaged diets like Atkins, Nutrisystem, and Jenny Craig have made their mark in the weight loss industry. You see them everyday on TV and other forms of media ads. They have been ‘proven’ to provide those fantastic results everyone is looking for. They have been ‘known’ to guarantee you to lose something like lose weight 80 pounds in 2 weeks. As great as it sounds, the results and their claims themselves are horribly inaccurate. It takes something close to starvation or diet that has no nutritional value to strip down weight that quickly. And you know what? Part of that weight could be muscle. The body can indeed take protein out of your body.
Prepackaged diets can end up taking advantage of you in a variety of different ways. For example, Nutrisystem advertises a great average price per meal. Nevertheless, it’s basically eating out day after day after day, and we all know how much money that ends up taking. For example, their advertised price is less than $3 a meal. They are averaging at a base price of $7 a day for their women’s program. For 28 days, that’s $196. They’re also saying base price. They can also rack up the price whenever they want without telling you. Another miscalculation in time can also leave you with a dry credit card when you forget to cancel.
Do you see those Prepackaged Diets ads? Take a look at the bottom next time. The claims of losing 40 pounds (in the entire program) are not typical. They even say “Results not typical”. So don’t fall for their extravagant claims because they are either faking it or taking the anomalies, the ones that don’t follow the typical trend. When they tell you that you can lose 40 pounds, you can, but in a typical situation you will lose a quarter of that amount. They are not promising you anything. In any case, that 196 dollars you gave to Nutrisystem is like paying $20 for one pound gone. For 40 pounds at the same rate, you’re paying $800.
Do NOT do that to yourself. Stick to what you know and remember that those one shot deals that ‘give’ results really don’t give anything but debt and a lack of results. If anything, those Prepackaged Diets are scams. Nearly everyone who buys into those schemes either has lots of money or will fall short in the end product. Don’t assume that you’re part of few that actually takes something out of the programs.
