Weight Loss Programs Part 1

Millions of over-weight people the world over go in for weight loss programs, especially by way of diets, yet only very few of them keep the weight they lose off. The unfortunate many, trying to lose weight continually, keep struggling to find an effective weight loss program. Unfortunately, there is no ‘magic wand’ to help people lose weight, and that too as fast as they would like it to be–in a jiffy! The only proven way to lose weight and keep it off is by making permanent lifestyle changes. In other words, you must eat healthier, watch portion sizes and remain active.

Weight Loss Exercise programs

The sources for weight loss are aplenty. But still it is the exercises that rule the roost. The relationship between exercise and weight loss is a long lasting one and one that has been known for ages. Still, before beginning any weight loss exercise program, it is of utmost importance that you consult your doctor.

You need to decide for you the best exercise for weight loss programs in your case can be. While there are a lot of exercises you can go in for, you must remember that the best exercise is always something that you enjoy doing for at least 30-60 minutes, and that which makes you sweat a little too. These can be ‘little’ activities such as playing with your kids or walking briskly, or else the strenuous ones like Stationary Cycling or Aerobics.

Programs for teenagers

Teen weight loss programs have, till now, focused primarily on intensive, costly efforts based in specialist centers. However, the key to these programs is – choosing healthier foods and getting more exercise.

What is required is a ‘two-way’ change, namely, – in average levels of physical activity of teenagers, and the amount of time they spend being sedentary. Any program that helps the obese teenagers achieve these two changes can be called an effective one, as it would lead to an overall change in average body mass index (BMI) of the teenager following the weight loss programs.
